My name is Rachel Plouse and I am a senior at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC majoring in communication with a concentration in journalism and a minor in English. I expect to graduate in December 2017.
My dream career is to become an environmental reporter in the pacific northwest.
I currently work as the director of marketing and communications at a boutique real estate firm. There I use my skills to market real estate listings through print and social media.
I have written stories that have been published in multiple local papers including the Crossroads Chronicle and Sylva Herald in Jackson County, NC.
Throughout the course of my college career, I have actively joined organizations that will further develop my journalism and communication skills. I am a section editor for the Western Carolina Journalist and the public relations manager of the Sustainable Energy Initiative at WCU.
I am often told that I am ambitious, hardworking, and a fast learner.
